Working in healthcare includes working in the presence of both suffering and healing. At the CPR, we work to answer 3 questions:
We answer these questions using evidence-based Service (Individual, Team), Education, and Research.
Originally a hospital-based service, we developed a reciprocal relationship-based approach using a trauma-informed framework. Rather than a standardized one-approach-fits-all, we collaborate with you to develop a custom designed, goal directed service, education or research plan. If achieving the goal seems unrealistic, we will have a candid conversation about what is possible. Evaluations are completed throughout our work.
As leaders in the area of Healthcare Provider support, we attract practitioners and leaders from around the world to learn and dialogue while supporting compassionate and collaborative healthcare communities.
The Centre for Practitioner Renewal (CPR) is a vibrant, interdisciplinary centre that functions as a model for providing service, and enhancing compassion. Impact of relationship is the focus and trauma-informed is the framework.
At CPR, relationships are a foundatinal focus. Service with individuals and teams start with a consultative assessment process to understand the experiences and goal identify the relevant services designed to enhance HCP relationships across three levels: self, others and Other. Enhancing relationship includes understanding individual psychological (self), interpersonal (others) and spiritual well-being or meaning making (Other) and strengthening those relationships among practitioners and their care teams.
We conduct research intended to develop evidence-based tools and practices. The tools and practices are focused on work-related resilience, engagement and satisfaction as well as enhancing compassionate service. Due to the unique nature of the CPR working in healthcare, every step of our work is evaluated to measure the outcomes from your perspective.
Formal and informal educational opportunities for those who are interested in wellbeing. The individually and team/organizationally transformative opportunities may include consultations, lectures or seminars. Please watch for educational opportunities offered directly from CPR.
