The CPR team is a diverse group of healthcare professionals with a broad range of experiences in healthcare. Team members practice in a way that models mindfulness of relationship, trauma-informed, compassion, and empathy.

The While I am a founding member of the CPR Team and provide care to healthcare providers of all types (students/residents, faculty, full range of administrators, support workers, first responders, and a full-range of clinicains), I welcome non-healthcare providers into my practice. Other areas where I also provide care include: forensics (violent and sex offenders), gender, addictions, HIV, and sex and sexuality.

With trauma-informed care at the core of my approach safety is a central focus. Transparency and predictability support the principal, 'safety first. Nothing before safety'.

Like my work, my training is broad and interdisciplinary. I am trained as a Psychologist, Social Worker. My medical training as a a Clinical Psychopharmacologist (medical management of mental illness), occurred in the United States. Since a license to practice in this area is unavailable in Canada, I cannot work in the full scope of my training.

Beyond my CPR work, I am a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family Practce, UBC. Largely at the St. Paul's Family Practice Residency program (Vancouver), I have taught behavioural medicine to family practice and specialty residents as well as to the faculty. I am also a member of the Academy of Medical Psychologists (AMP), and an associate member of the College of Family Phycians of Canada.

Since 2012, my volunteer work included serving on the board of directors of the BC Psychological Association (BCPA) including being a liazon between BCPA and other assiciations across North America. President and Past-President were among the roles I held.

I look forward to the chance to be of service to you.

Since 1990, I have had a broad range of experiences in hospital-based healthcare as a provider, as well as a patient. For the heathcare provider, experience has shown relationships have a reciprocal effect on each other and on resilience. Relationships incude: self, others (e.g., people, organizations, concepts), and Other (something beyond ourselves that brings meaning)). I strive to be mindful of how my experiences in healthcare as a provider as well as a patient impact me and my work. I approach your reciprocal relationships with compassionate curiosity.
